Who can send in a photograph:
Duchenne parents, family and caregivers with permission from the parent can submit a picture. Just make sure you own the photograph or all copy rights. (Sorry no school photographs) The photographs must portray Duchenne in some way. Like the first AFO’s, scooter and wheelchair shots. Action shots work well too, like fishing or fundraising and other daily activities.

How do I participate:
First you must register to submit and partake in the 2012 -365 Days of Duchenne Advocacy and Awareness Project. Details below. Once you register you will be sent the Photograph Requirements and Submission Guide with further instruction, but here is a quick run down.

- Photo must be 300dpi or larger
- Email as an attachment to 365daysofduchenne@gmail.com

When do we get started:
For the calendars to be ready for purchase in December, -just in time for the new year of 2012. All 365 photographs MUST be submitted by Oct. 31st or before! This means get me your picture ASAP!
What is involved in having re-$ale rights?
I believe in giving back to the Duchenne families. Yes, research is MUCH needed, but in this economy I know many families striving to just put food on the table and gas in the car. And this is why I created the resale rights give away. Each participant who sends in a photo can chose to resale or give away the 2012 addition of the 365 Days of Duchenne Desk Top Calendar.
Once you register and submit your photograph you automatically qualify to have resale rights for the calendars. You will also have the opportunity to purchase extra copies of the desk top calendar for resale and distribution. Or if you have a website or blog and use a shopping cart like from paypal you can set up your own buy button and ship out manually via snail mail.

How the 365 Days of Duchenne came to be (Misty’s Story♥)

At first I thought, “what do you mean 365 Days of Duchenne? We are
already living it 24/7.” Then it hit me, “but the world doesn’t know that!” After writing my first book In Your Face and the first Duchenne- Parent-Collaboration book Saving Our Sons and now working on the third one where parents and individuals with Duchenne can submit a story. I am realizing not every parent wants to wright a story or even can. Which has led me to doing a ton of thinking about how to reach even more people than with books on Amazon which is great, but I want to be able to drive the Duchenne Awareness message into the hearts of the world on a daily basis without having to spend a bunch of money, time and energy that I’d rather be spending with my beautiful family. I mean after all more time with our Duchenne children is what we as parents desire more of. And why you are even reading this right now. The world must HEAR us and in order for them to hear us we have to touch their hearts and the best way I know is through the real picture of Duchenne, -our children.

How to know what photograph is BEST to submit.You might already just “know” what photograph to submit and you might be one of those who just can’t decide. In either situation here is a list of questions to consider when choosing the perfect picture to represent the Duchenne story for the 365 Days of Duchenne desk top calendar.

1. Q) Can family members be in the photograph I submit?
A) As long as you own all rights to the photograph, meaning it is your picture then YES family member can be in the photo. (Sorry NO school photographs.)
2. Q) If I chose to partake in the resale of the desk top calendars who keeps the profits?
A) You keep all the profits to do as you see fit. Either give to a Duchenne Charity of your choice or keep for your Duchenne child.
3. Q) Can I submit a black-n-white photo?
A) No, color has been proven to capture attention quicker than black-n-white or muted softer colors. And since we want to raise Duchenne Awareness we want to capture attention. 
4. Q) Can I choose the date I want my photograph to appear on?
A) Yes, however dates are first come first serve. Specify the date you want upon photograph registration.
5. Q) I want to partake in promoting and selling the desk top calendars but I am not sure where to go.
A) There are numerous places for these Awareness Calendars to be displayed and used.
Non-profit offices, Insurance and Realtor offices, Your utility companies, at schools, teachers, nursers, doctors your child sees, receptionist everywhere, your place of work. Basically any place the public and individuals can see and use the calendar.
